Obama Natural Born? Seems We’re Not Going to Know

October 25, 2008

“Proof of citizenship is no longer a requirement to become President of the United States.”

Bob Parks at Black & Right notes today that a Clinton appointed judge in Philly has thrown out Attorney Phillip J. Berg’s suit demanding proof of Barack Obama’s citizenship. Parks comments: (emphasis added)

Well, if there was ever something to the whole Barack Obama birth certifcate controversy, we’ll never know the truth….Precedent has now been set. Proof of citizenship is no longer a requirement to become President of the United States. It’s now “unreasonable” to request an authentic birth certificate be presented from the place of its issuance.

While the US Constitution is clear in it’s requirements, and it shouldn’t be considered unreasonable for a candidate who’s raised over $150 million to spend less than $20 to have a birth certificate FedEx’d from Hawaii to a judge in Philadelphia, it looks like the law is in the eye of the beholder.

Welcome to the United States of Obama.

Beirut Marine Barracks Bombed 25 Years Ago Today….

October 23, 2008

October 23 1983: Islamic terrorists blew up our U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut, Lebanon killing 220 marines and 23 other service members. Another attack nearby killed 58 French paratroopers in their barracks.

On October 23 1983, around 6:20 am, a yellow Mercedes-Benz truck drove to Beirut International Airport, where the 1st Battalion 8th Marines, under the U.S. 2nd Marine Division of the United States Marine Corps, had set up its local headquarters. The truck had been substituted for a hijacked water delivery truck. The truck turned onto an access road leading to the Marines’ compound and circled a parking lot. The driver then accelerated and crashed through a barbed wire fence around the parking lot, passed between two sentry posts, crashed through a gate and barreled into the lobby of the Marine headquarters. The Marine sentries at the gate were operating under their rules of engagement, which made it very difficult to respond quickly to the truck. By the time the two sentries had locked, loaded, and shouldered their weapons, the truck was already inside the building’s entry way.

The suicide bomber detonated his explosives, which were equivalent to 12,000 pounds (about 5,400 kg) of TNT. The force of the explosion collapsed the four-story cinder-block building into rubble, crushing many inside. It is said to have been the largest non-nuclear blast ever (deliberately) detonated on the face of the earth. “The force of the explosion,” “initially lifted the entire four-story structure, shearing the bases of the concrete support columns, each measuring fifteen feet in circumference and reinforced by numerous one and three quarter inch steel rods. The airborne building then fell in upon itself. A massive shock wave and ball of flaming gas was hurled in all directions.”

About 20 seconds later, an identical attack occurred against the barracks of the French 3rd Company of the 6th French Parachute Infantry Regiment. Another suicide bomber drove his truck down a ramp into the building’s underground parking garage and detonated his bomb, leveling the headquarters.

Republican Party Has Moved to the Right: Powell

October 19, 2008

What are you saying? Please Gen. Powell, you have clearly moved Left. He says the Republican Party has moved more to the Right than he would like to see it. The fact is, however, that the G.O.P. now consists of two factions; the centrist, mostly eastern, country club Republicans and the rest of the base, conservative folks in the red states. Colin Powell says the McCain people have made the William Ayers friendship the central focus of the campaign and speaks of the “very, very limited” relationship that Obama has had with Bill Ayers! Huh! The Ayers connection, and Obama’s refusal to be truthful about it, is becoming a more important issue precisely because it indicates extremely poor judgment unbecoming a presidential candidate.

Today we learn definitively that in 1997 Obama wrote a short review of a William Ayers book. Suggestions of this have appeared in the media before but now an industrious blogger has dug up the actual book with Obama’s blurb and photo.( photo below) Blogger zomblog says:

I find it very hard — no, make that impossible — to believe that Barack Obama had “no idea” who William Ayers really was, or that he had a past as a notorious domestic terrorist (as Obama’s campaign has claimed) while serving on panels with Ayers and simultaneously praising Ayers’ book in a major newspaper.

This story is likely to continue growing, and I thought that the image above would provide a good “visual” for the Obama-Ayers connection.

[UPDATE: On page 82 of the book itself, Ayers mentions Obama. So there’s no question they knew each other.]

Obama Blurb on Ayers Book

Obama Blurb on Ayers Book

Michell Malkin’s take on this today: Finally, we arrive at the real reason Powell is endorsing Obama: The party, he complains, has become too “narrow” for his tastes. Pro-abortion Powell can’t stand the thought of two more Republican Supreme Court appointments. He thinks Sarah Palin is too conservative. He shares the Obama view of our base as racist and non-inclusive — but has nothing to say about the rabid pack of America-damning preachers who helped make Obama the “transformational” figure Powell has placed his faith in.

Anyway, below is the Colin Powell appearance with Brokaw today:

The Left: Unhinged by the Tinge (Insane Rage)

October 12, 2008

The tinge of racism, that is. Ever since that A.P. reporter attributed “racial tinge” to Palin’s mentioning of Obama “palling around with terrorists”, the Left has been tripping over themselves to accuse McCain/Palin of injecting “vigillantism” “racism”, and “mob incitement” into the campaign. Frank Rich of NY Times and Dana Milbank of WaPo are particularly exercised. Paul Krugman predictably gets on board with his description of “the insane rage…visible in the right-wing media”. Also see Michell Malkin’s piece today for her take on this unhingement. The humorous illustration below is from NY Times today accompanying the Frank Rich column.

Barack Obama is an Elitist Punk….*

April 16, 2008

Michelle Malkin weighs in today on the subject of snobism….

The odor of elitism is like onion breath: It’s quick to acquire, hard to mask. Try as he might, Barack Obama cannot camouflage the political stink he exhaled when he dissed small-town Americans as “bitter” Neanderthals “clinging” to their guns, faith and belief in strict immigration enforcement. It wasn’t the first time the effete Snob-ama revealed himself.

*Barack Obama is an elitist punk. And … it will cost him….writes Rich Galen in his latest column at Mullings.

  • First of all, he has all but guaranteed Hillary will win the primary in Pennsylvania next week and, therefore, will have no reason to exit the race.
  • Second – follow me here – Republicans believe they have to win Ohio and its 20 electoral votes to win the White House. However, the GOP did so badly in Ohio in 2006 it is very much in doubt whether John McCain will be able to carry the Buckeye state in the fall.
  • Ok. McCain has to figure he’s going to have to replace those 20 electoral votes to get to the magic number of 270 to be elected President.
  • How about … Pehhhhhhhhhnsylvania!
  • Pennsylvania has 21 electoral votes. And in October and early November (assuming Obama is the Democratic nominee) I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the voters of the Keystone State were reminded with some frequency that Barack H. (!) Obama called them bitter, frustrated troglodytes.
  • The longer this Democratic primary fight goes on, the more likely it is that John McCain will be the next President of the United States.
