Juliette: I live in a world where there is right and wrong, the truth or a lie, courage or cowardice. I did leave out one thing that might make you understand why I was disappointed in Powell’s endorsement. Powell needed to rehabilitate his political career as well as increase his worth as a speaker… so he endorsed the candidate that stands for everything that is the opposite of what he once proclaimed was his own views of the world and military. You notice he waited till almost voting day before he made his endorsement. He would have never endorsed him if Obama was ten points behind in the polls. So to rephrase my previous comments in new terms: It was cowardly and not courageous to not tell the truth about your real motives for supporting Obama and that is not right. It is wrong.

Juliette - Blogger Debbie Schlussel writes today about the Powell endorsement of B. Obama: Colin Powell is and has always been a liberal. The liberal mainstream media, which, of course, wants Barack Obama to win, is making a big deal out of something that's actually not a big deal, something that's quite predictable. As I've always noted, Colin Powell was a liberal and has been a fan of skin-color-based affirmative action, from which he's benefited his entire life. Skin color, in no short measure is why he became a General, why he got promoted to the top of America's military, why he was chosen for a key role in both Bush, father and son, administrations, and why he was given a coveted position on AOL's board, which made him an instant gazillionaire, once his son (also benefiting from Bush-based affirmative action) approved the deal as head of the FCC. It certainly wasn't his foreign policy, which was anti-Israel, pan-Arabist, and liberal, liberal, liberal.

Norris Hall – Michelle Bachmann managed to stay on message about Obama’s troubling , and yes anti-American, associates and questions about his judgment. Matthews kept boring in in his usual obnoxious way trying to goad Bachmann into saying which members of Congress were anti-American which wasn’t her point at all. I agree the so called robocalls are stupid and should stop. After viewing the interview, I do not agree with Colin Powell that the party “is getting a little bizarre” as you phrase it. Colin Powell is a typical moderate who waits to see which way the crowd seems to be going before joining in. How is it that Powell, once the enemy of the hard left, is now their darling; oh wait, he must have been “rehabilitated”!

Had all my McCain posters, stickers, hats, and shirts. Then Powell goes and endorses obama. NOW I have to get all new obama stuff ! ! ! !

I fought of switching over with “the boss”, Madonna, Hamas, and ACORN endorsed obama.

If someone like bugs bunny endorses McCain, I will of course have to flip back to McCain.

IF ANY ENDORSEMENT SWAYS YOUR VOTE………..YOUR AN IDIOT ! ! ! !

How anyone can over-look the inexperience at the top of the dem ticket is simply amazing. In obama’s little political history, he has enough TRASH to end 5 or 6 republican careers. Finally, the only reason biden is on the ticket is because he makes more stupid remarks publicly.

Colin Powell has a point. The Republican party doesn’t look or sound anything like the Republican party I grew up with 40 years ago

Colin Powell said “I have some concerns about the
direction that the party has taken in recent years. It has moved more
to the right than I would like to see it”

Was he being a little too sensitive??

Oh puh-LEEZE. Is it not possible that his reasons for endorsing Obama could be just what he says they are? What a two-dimensional world you must live in Dave B. .. Oh, Obama’s black… That MUST be why Colin Powell endorsed him! Think about what you’re saying. It’s ridiculous.

Let’s come out and just say it. Powell endorsed Obama because he is the black candidate, plain and simple. It defies logic to think otherwise and I wish he had just said it instead of alleging there are other reasons. Tell us that you support the first black candidate because you want to support the first black candidate but don’t insult our intelligence with the reasons you gave. Powell is a hero in my eyes for many reasons but this was not his finest moment. I truly would understand perfectly if he just was truthful. General Powell picked an inexperienced politician of the opposite party who never served in the military, wants to cut the military, wanted to pull out in defeat in Iraq, has made hurtful statements about soldiers and their actions, blurbed a book for a terrorist that bombed and planned bombings that killed innocent people and military buildings… instead of a disabled vet, a military hero that gave so much for his country, has experience, whose political ideology is almost identical, who stood firm when politics interfered with what was right for the soldiers… because Sarah Palin is too conservative? Because the Republican party is too conservative? Hello!!! It’s John McCain we’re talking about. I pray that General Powell did what he had to do and it’s done and over with because I don’t want to see this great man diminished any further by publically being required to circumvent the real reason for his endorsement. Just say it, it’s ok. Really.
